Description

Quality is defined as an laboratory's ability to provide accurate, reliable, timely, cost-effective test results so that clinicians can determine the appropriate treatment for patients. In order to achieve this objective, the laboratory needs to establish detailed processes and procedures. A Quality Management System is a set of processes organized to achieve customer satisfaction and meet specific requirements.

By completing this MOOC on “Quality Management in Medical Laboratory”, you’ll:

  • Understand why quality management is imperative for a laboratory, no matter what your role is.
  • Gain insights into the mechanisms of the ISO 15189 standard.
  • Understand what methods and tools are needed to set up a quality management system.

In this course, you will find instructional materials covering the fundamentals of quality and explore how a quality management system impacts all of a laboratory’s processes.

Format

A MOOC is a course open to all, i.e. open to all expectations. The pedagogical team has thought about two courses in order to offer you the best flexibility in relation to your objectives: the knowledge path and the skills path.

For the time being, only the knowledge path is available in English.

The course will open on October 11. In the meantime, we are active on twitter #MOOCQualité @MerieuxFdn and on LinkedIn # InitiativeQualité. Please join us!

Are you a professional?

Any professions involved in a medical biology laboratory can benefit from an overview of quality management. Quality is a real operational and strategic asset through the sharing of skills and common practice. The implementation of a quality management system is indeed a team approach, so all the team members should share the same vision. The Quality Manager and his Quality Team have a critical role in a medical biology laboratory. This MOOC has been developed to give them the tools to manage the quality management system in their own laboratory.
