The Institut Pasteur is a private, non-profit foundation, created in 1887 by Louis Pasteur. Today, it is an internationally renowned biomedical research center at the heart of a network of 33 institutes on five continents. To carry out its mission dedicated to the prevention and control of diseases in France and throughout the world, the Institut Pasteur develops its activities in four areas: scientific and medical research, public health and infectious disease surveillance, education, innovation development and technology transfer. Scientific priorities include microbiology and infectious diseases, but also immunology, neuroscience, developmental biology, genetics and cancer. The Institut Pasteur has made MOOCs a priority in the development of its education.
