After the success of the “Women in Arts” MOOC with more than 42,000 registrations in 2021, the Centre Pompidou is offering an Art & Ecology MOOC starting October 10, 2022.
This free online course in 5 sequences is open to all and proposes a thematic path presenting the different ecological practices at work among artists from 1960 to the present day.
From recovering and recycling to a new look at the living, from involvement in artistic and militant performances to the emergence of another perception of the act of creation, environmental issues have crossed the approach of many artists since the 1960s and now occupy a decisive place, helping to redefine the very horizon of contemporary art.
Based on the collections of the National Museum of Modern Art, the specialists will draw up an inventory of the ecology of contemporary art.
This MOOC is composed of 5 continuous open sequences.
Throughout the sequences, you will find different activities. There is no obligation or punishment! The sole purpose of these activities is to deepen your knowledge and stimulate your creativity.
Forget about binders and report cards, for this MOOC from the Centre Pompidou no prerequisites are necessary. Come as you are: curious and eager to learn more about art, or playful and ready to take on our quizzes!
At the end of each sequence, you will be given a graded quiz to check your knowledge and validate your progress. If you obtain at least a mark of 14/20 in these quizzes, a certificate of achievement will be issued to you (downloadable from your dashboard at the end of each term). Will you display it at home or on your CV? Or will you make it a target like Niki de Saint Phalle? It's up to you.
