History and geography are two strongly interrelated disciplines in the humanities. The first invites us to investigate facts, events relating to peoples, social groups and humanity in general. The second studies the physical and biological phenomena on the earth globe and the way in which humans occupy and shape space. These two disciplines are essential to shed light on our present and to understand certain major issues of our contemporary society.
